Hi Everyone,
We’re the Smith family, and we’ve started this fundraiser to help our incredible mom and our whole family. Over the past seven years, Mom has faced significant health challenges that have led to her becoming disabled. She’s dealing with numerous medical issues, and sadly, her condition isn’t expected to improve. Both my sister and I also live with disabilities, which adds to the challenges our family navigates daily.
One of the biggest concerns for Mom is her inability to drive due to her medical conditions. This leaves her without a safe way to get around when Dad is at work, and it’s truly frightening for her to think she can’t reach us if something were to happen. Our goal is to raise money for a safe and reliable e-bike, along with all the necessary gear to keep her secure.
An e-bike would dramatically reduce Mom’s fear and give her the independence she needs. It’s the safest transportation option for her, especially because she experiences fainting spells. An e-bike would allow her to react quickly and safely if a spell occurred, something a car simply can’t offer.
Imagine the difference this would make for us! With an e-bike, Mom could easily get to my sister and me at school or summer school. We’d be able to do so many more things together as a family. Plus, the e-bike we have in mind has a back seat, meaning I can ride my bike alongside Mom, and my little sister (who isn’t old enough to ride on her own yet) could safely join us on Mom’s e-bike.
This isn’t just about transportation; it’s about reclaiming our family’s ability to be active members of our community. For me, it would mean being able to try out for Special Olympics sports at school. For our whole family, it means more independence, less fear, and the chance to create more joyful memories together.
