My dad has always been the strongest and most selfless person I’ve known. In his 73 years, he has shown me what it means to work hard and take care of your family no matter the circumstance.
Growing up with humble beginnings in a poor barrio in Puerto Rico with 10 siblings, he was no stranger to hardship but grew up with a strong sense of appreciation and family ties.
He has overcome so many challenges over that past few years.
Now, my dad has been diagnosed with esophageal cancer. There is a lot of uncertainty and, as we are coming to find out, a large financial burden.
