Hello, I’m making this fundraiser for my mom, Kristy Santos. She has Grade 3 Triple Negative Breast Cancer. This means that it’s the most aggressive type of breast cancer out of all the types of breast cancer and it spreads very quickly. Triple Negative is also a rarer form that only 15-20% women have.
My mom has had this for a year and is only now able to seek medical attention due to our financial circumstances. We’re doing our best to find financial aid and help for the medical bills, but this is only the start of our long journey and we don’t know how much we will need to pay out of pocket. We also need to pay for our life expenses such as rent, utilities, food, and other bills. Along with credit card debt that my mom has been struggling to get out of since we moved across the United States last year. The credit card companies are refusing any kind of help even when she asked if she could defer her payments for just a few months. They don’t recognize cancer to be an extreme situation for relief of debt.
She needs to go through 6 months of chemotherapy, then have surgery, and more chemo for another 6 months afterwards, including possible radiation. She’s unsure how this will effect her physically and is concerned about her job because she’s unable to take FMLA since she’s only been there for half a year. So any money that could relieve these pressures would help incredibly. I’m also trying to go to college so that I can help soon into the future, but right now we need any help that we can get.
It’s just us two trying to manage on our own without any family. She’s a single mother who has fought and struggled my whole life to help me achieve a successful future. My mom is a caring, compassionate person. She’s always supported me, my goals, who I am, and has shown me unconditional love. She shows interest in my hobbies, plays videogames, watches shows, cartoons, and anime with me. She even cares for my friends and will help them too when they’re struggling. She’s always been there for me when I needed her, so I want to do anything that I can to help her right now when she needs it the most. I love her and I’m scared for her, I want her to keep on living so she can see me when I start my own family. The support would mean everything to us. Thank you and God bless you.
