My name is Claudia and I’m reaching out with an aching heart but hopeful spirit to ask for your help for my sweet 4-year-old niece, Valentina, who is once again fighting for her life.
Just when we thought the worst was behind us, after being diagnosed with leukemia at just 2 years old and then being in partial remission the last 2 years, it now returned. Her doctors say she urgently needs a bone marrow transplant to survive. This treatment is her best—and possibly only—chance at living a full life.
Valentina lives in Mexico with her parents and grandparents. They are an incredibly humble, hardworking family who have already given everything they have to support her care. But the costs of treatment, travel, and recovery are far more than they can carry alone this time. They’ve never asked for help—but right now, we need to.
At just 4 years old, Valentina has endured more than any child should. Her days are filled with hospital visits instead of playgrounds, and needles instead of toys. She’s lost her hair, her energy, and so much of the carefree joy of childhood—but not her spirit. She’s still smiling, still fighting, and still dreaming of one day just being a normal kid again going to the beach and eating her favorite foods.
As it stands another obstacle that our family has encounter is that the hospital in government hospital in Hermosillo has not given access to chemotherapy, to her and about other patients in the city. Her grandmother along with other family members have have had to protest and call on local news stations to amplify their voice and support to demand access and care.

Mi nombre es Claudia y me dirijo a ustedes con el corazón en la mano y el espíritu lleno de esperanza para pedir su ayuda por mi dulce sobrina de 4 años, Valentina, quien una vez más está luchando por su vida.
Justo cuando pensábamos que lo peor había quedado atrás—tras ser diagnosticada con leucemia a los 2 años y luego estar en remisión parcial durante los últimos 2 años—el cáncer ha regresado. Sus médicos dicen que necesita urgentemente un trasplante de médula ósea para sobrevivir. Este tratamiento es su mejor—y posiblemente única—oportunidad de tener una vida plena.
Valentina vive en México con sus padres y abuelos. Son una familia increíblemente humilde y trabajadora, que ya ha dado todo lo que tiene para apoyar su tratamiento. Pero ahora, los costos de la atención médica, los traslados y la recuperación son demasiado altos para soportarlos solos. Nunca han pedido ayuda—pero hoy, la necesitamos.
A sus 4 años, Valentina ha vivido más dolor del que cualquier niño debería conocer: visitas constantes al hospital, agujas en lugar de juguetes, días sin energía, sin cabello… pero nunca sin esperanza. Sigue sonriendo, sigue luchando y sigue soñando con ser una niña normal, ir a la playa y comer sus comidas favoritas.
Hoy enfrentamos un obstáculo más: el hospital público en Hermosillo no le ha proporcionado los medicamentos necesarios para reiniciar su quimioterapia. La familia ha tenido que protestar y acudir a los medios locales para exigir el acceso al tratamiento.
