Help Our Ward Tech Team Beat the Heat – We Just Need Fans!

We’re the Ward Pharmacy Technician Team working in QEH NHS hospital ward satellites, and right now we’re struggling to get through every shift in unbearable heat.

With UK temperatures soaring to 30–32°C nearly every day during this heatwave, our working environment has become increasingly difficult and, frankly, unsafe. We’ve pleaded with management for something as basic and inexpensive as fans, but time and time again, we’re told: “There’s no money in the budget.”

Despite our persistent requests, nothing has been done. The welfare of staff who work long hours in stifling conditions seems to come second to everything else. While we understand the importance of medicine stock integrity (and it’s something we work hard to maintain ourselves), it’s disheartening to see that staff wellbeing isn’t given the same level of concern.

We’re not asking for much—just some support to purchase a few simple electric fans to help make our working conditions bearable so we can continue to do what we’re here to do: give the best possible care to our patients.

If you have a kind heart and a few pounds to spare, we would be so grateful for your help. Every contribution, no matter how small, will go directly toward buying fans for our ward spaces. Your support will make a huge difference to the health, comfort, and morale of our team.

Thank you so much for helping us stay cool, stay safe, and keep going.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
