Hello! Two of my peers and I are currently shadowing in physical therapy clinics in Costa Rica. This clinic, Asociación Neurológica De
Atención Integral Maria Auxiliadora, is a neurology clinic based Cartago, Costa Rica that has many patients, most of which children, with different neurological disorders and conditions. Their physical therapy patients range in diagnoses, from cerebral palsy to rare genetic disorders. Many children in this clinic are learning how to adapt to their disability, such as by learning different strategies to walk, talk, communicate physically, and more. My peers and I noticed that the clinic is in need of some equipment so that they can offer additional treatment methods for these children that are more specific to their needs, so we are raising money to donate some items. The clinic receives a limited amount of government funding, but the severity of some of their cases requires much more. We are hoping to donate an electrotherapy machine, a vibration plate, a trunk-supported walker, and some weights and bands. Please help us make this happen so that we can help these children with their treatment! The therapists in this clinic are amazing and just need more equipment to work with!
