My name is Sharon, and I’m asking for help during one of the hardest times of my life right now. Just recently, on June 30th 2026, I lost somebody very dear to me. Geri was not only somebody that I cared for almost for 12 years but became family, and we celebrated birthdays and holidays together. Geri was 90 years old and legally blind, and during our 12 years together, I dedicated myself to helping her live as comfortably and independently as possible. While caring for her, I also had to work outside the home to make ends meet. Losing her has been incredibly difficult, and now I’m also facing the loss of the home we shared. Instead of having time to grieve, I’ve been dealing with housing uncertainty, financial stress, and the overwhelming task of starting over.
I have worked as a caregiver for many years because helping others has always been important to me. Now I find myself needing help. I am raising money to secure a safe place to live and cover the expenses that come along with moving, including security deposit, pet deposit, first month’s rent, moving costs, and basic household necessities so I can begin again. I also have my dog Jake, whose hips are not in good condition and require ongoing medication, which is costly. His hips are bad because he’s a German Shepherd. Finding housing for us includes additional expenses such as pet security deposit and monthly fees for him, as well as maintaining his medications.
Every donation, no matter the amount, will directly go toward helping me get back on my feet. If you are unable to donate, sharing my fundraiser with others helps me just as much. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any kindness or support you can offer. It gives me hope that I can make it through this difficult chapter and begin rebuilding my life. With gratitude, Sharon
