On the evening of Monday, June 2nd, my little brother Skyler was involved in a devastating motorcycle accident when he struck a vehicle. The impact left him with life-threatening injuries, and he had to be stat flown to UofL Hospital. There, doctors discovered multiple broken bones in his right arm, a dislocated elbow, a fractured pelvis, a fractured femur, a collapsed lung, bleeding in his liver, and a large open wound on his thigh from the collision.
Skyler has already undergone multiple surgeries, but he remains in the trauma ICU, intubated and unable to speak. Communication is limited to the occasional toe or finger wiggle—small signs of hope that mean everything to us. He still faces at least three more surgeries and what will be a long, painful, and uncertain road to recovery.
At the time of the accident, Skyler was working two jobs while also attending college. He is a driven, hardworking young man with big dreams and an even bigger heart. He was balancing work and school with determination and grit, building toward a future he believed in. Now, that future is on pause as he fights for his life.
Our family is doing everything we can to support him, but we are humbly asking for help. The financial burden of this tragedy is more than we can manage alone. Donations will go toward Skyler’s ongoing medical care, rehabilitation, medical equipment, and basic living expenses, as he will be unable to work for the foreseeable future.
Skyler is strong. He is kind. He is resilient. And he deserves every chance to heal without the added stress of overwhelming medical bills.
If you’re able, please consider donating. Any amount truly helps. If you can’t give right now, sharing this fundraiser is just as powerful. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting Skyler—and for lifting up our family during the most difficult time we’ve ever faced.
With love and gratitude,
The Neace Family
