In the recent days, my family and I have found that my uncle in the Philippines has gone through a sudden health decline due to a diabetic sepsis infection. That has left him in an unbearable state of pain. It was unexpected and heartbreaking to hear; we weren’t ready for it. In these passing days, my family has done everything we could to provide the best healthcare for my uncle. It was fighting a losing battle.
The healthcare in the Philippines is not the best compared to here in America. It was exhausting for my family and me to see my uncle in such a weak state. The healthcare given to my uncle wasn’t enough; we had run out of money paying the medical bills. We were unable to do anything more; this was a cruel and aching battle. It is a hopeless and draining feeling for my family to face, a dread of what we could have done most to help my uncle at a time of his lowest.
