Help Us Honor My Sister’s Life

It is with unimaginable heartbreak that we share the passing of my beloved sister. Our family is devastated by this sudden loss and is now navigating the overwhelming emotional and financial burdens that come with saying goodbye to someone we love so deeply.

Over the past several days, we stood faithfully by her side, praying and hoping for a miracle. She fought with incredible strength, courage, and resilience, but despite every effort, she passed away surrounded by the love of her family.

My sister was truly one of a kind. She had the most beautiful smile, an unforgettable sense of humor, and a heart that knew no limits. She was the person everyone could count on—always willing to help anyone in need, no matter how big or small. She was a devoted wife, an extraordinary mother, a loving daughter, an amazing sister, a loyal friend, a compassionate coworker, and a dedicated healthcare professional. She lived a life of selflessness and service, leaving a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

We were incredibly close our entire lives. Our bond was so deep that it often felt as though we shared the same heart. She stood beside me through every major milestone in my life without hesitation, offering unconditional love, encouragement, and unwavering support. She loved my three children as if they were her own, and they loved her just as deeply.

She and her husband of more than 25 years, John, built a beautiful family together, raising their five children with unconditional love, compassion, and unwavering devotion. Every child whose life she touched knew they were cherished, supported, and deeply loved.

Her dedication didn’t end at home. She devoted her career to caring for others, spending more than 15 years at UCSF in various patient care roles before continuing her career as a medical assistant at Kaiser. While working full-time at UCSF, she earned her medical assistant certification—all while pregnant with her youngest daughter. She often spent two to three hours each day commuting, balancing work, school, pregnancy, and caring for her husband and children with incredible grace, determination, and perseverance. She never complained. She simply did whatever was necessary for the people she loved.

Our family has endured tremendous loss over the years, including the passing of our father, our brother, and many beloved family members and friends. Through every hardship, my sister remained one of the strongest pillars of our family. She was our source of strength, laughter, comfort, and love. Today, our mother, along with our entire family, is left grieving the loss of an extraordinary daughter, sister, mother, wife, and friend whose absence has left a void that can never be filled.

She also leaves behind countless relatives, friends, coworkers, and loved ones whose lives were forever touched by her kindness, generosity, laughter, and unwavering love. Her legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched through her compassion, strength, and servant’s heart.

As we mourn this unimaginable loss, we are asking for your support to help cover funeral and memorial expenses, as well as the unexpected financial burdens our family is now facing. Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward giving her the beautiful, dignified, and heartfelt farewell she deserves.

If you are unable to donate, we completely understand. We would be deeply grateful if you would consider sharing this fundraiser with your family, friends, and community. Your prayers, kind words, and support mean more to us than words can ever express.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing beside our family during one of the most difficult times of our lives. Your love, compassion, generosity, and prayers have been a source of strength, and we will forever be grateful.

With love and heartfelt gratitude,

The Pedroso & Powell Families
