My name is Yeneidi or Yen for short and I am a lymphedema warrior. I was diagnosed with Lymphedema when I was 16. It has been quite a journey between physical therapy, compression garments and complications many times coming close to loosing my leg, which I am currently facing. I have a severe case of cellulitis, and as you could see from my pictures a huge accumulation of fluid that was surgically drained yesterday to relieve pressure and pain. This has been particularly difficult for me as I currently have no paid time off at work due to dealing with my child’s mental health status. I do not know when I’ll be able to return to work. I faced the same circumstances in 2023 where I had to be out of work for 6 months, took on loans to help pay for basic necessities and now I am having my wages garnished as these complications are a recurring issue. These past few years have been very difficult for us. Although not listed I have many outstanding medical bills for both my daughter and I, that I cannot keep up with. Putting food on the table and keeping a roof over our heads has proven a challenge. I am requesting help from friends family and even strangers to help ease the burden in anyway they can. I will greatly appreciate any blessings sent our way.
