Hello, my name is Zelma. I’m a mother first — to two incredible children who are my entire world. Asking for help like this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do, but I’m doing it for them.
Since my teens, I’ve battled endometriosis and ovarian cysts. For years, I pushed through the pain. But two years ago, I was hospitalized and given IV antibiotics — one of my cysts had ruptured, and because I live in constant pain, I didn’t even realize it had happened.
Then, just over a year ago, I received devastating news: I was diagnosed with a malignant endometrioma, a tumor that has continued to grow and now measures 15 x 9 x 14 cm. I’ve spent the past year fighting for care and applying for every resource possible, but the mass keeps growing. Most days, I can’t get out of bed. I’ve passed out from the pain, and my husband often has to lift me off the floor. I’ve been to the ER multiple times, but they say only a gynecologic oncologist can perform the surgery I need — and I can’t afford to wait until it becomes a life-threatening emergency.
This surgery could give me my life back — a chance to live without constant pain, to be present for my kids, and to protect my body before the damage is irreversible. But the cost of an oncologist, surgery, hospital care, and recovery is more than I can handle alone. I’ve also lost my job because I’m physically unable to work.
I’m humbly asking for your help to raise funds for:
A gynecologic oncologist
Life-saving hysterectomy and tumor removal
Hospital and treatment costs
Medications and recovery care
Living expenses while I heal and cannot work
Every donation, every share, and every prayer brings me one step closer to healing. I will continue to post updates so you can see exactly how your support is making a difference in my life.
With all my heart,
Zelma
