Hello, my name is Taylor.
My father is currently in the ICU due to a life-threatening COPD exacerbation. This has been an incredibly emotional and uncertain time for our family. Anyone who knows him knows how strong, steady, and selfless he is — the kind of man who never complains, never asks for help, and always puts others before himself. Watching him struggle to breathe, connected to machines, is something I never imagined we’d have to go through. It’s painful, frightening, and humbling all at once.
While he continues to fight for his life, my mother has been doing everything she can to stay by his side. She’s taken on the full weight of this crisis — emotionally, physically, and financially. From traveling back and forth to the hospital, to covering the cost of temporary lodging, food, she’s managing it all while still trying to keep up with work and daily responsibilities. The emotional toll alone is overwhelming, and the financial strain only adds to the pressure. While we are extremely grateful that the medical bills are covered, the financial burden doesn’t stop there.
This fundraiser is simply an effort to help lift some of that burden. So that she can continue to be there for him without constantly worrying about the cost of doing so. So that we can all focus on what matters most right now: supporting my dad through this critical moment and giving him every possible chance to recover.
