On March 1st, at just 37 years old, my husband Jared received a diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia. A very aggressive cancer. We were transported to MD Anderson immediately by ambulance that night. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy while getting transfusions multiple days a week in Houston and is expected to remain there for at least another 6 months as he awaits a crucial stem cell transplant, all while fighting constant infections and having low counts for over 2 months now.
Jared is on short-term disability and I am a self-employed hairdresser. So at this time, I am not able to work at all. I am dedicated to caring for Jared in Houston while also traveling back to Hineston on most weekends that I can to be with our children.
This separation and the immense medical and living expenses are creating a significant financial and emotional burden for our family.
To help ease this burden, we’re asking for help, something I don’t like doing.
Your generous contribution will help us with mounting medical bills, travel expenses, expenses that take care of our kids, and the costs of maintaining our household while we are unable to work.
Thank you for considering this to extend your support to Jared, me, and our kids. Your kindness and generosity will make a tangible difference in our lives during this challenging time.
Sincerely,
Leslie
