Our world changed forever in April 2022 when our brave warrior, Isaac, was diagnosed with ependymoma, a rare and aggressive cancerous brain tumor. At just, 9 years old, Isaac faced a battle no child should ever endure. With unwavering courage, he underwent invasive brain surgery followed by grueling treatments, supported by the love of his family, his brother, friends, classmates, and teachers. Together, we celebrated small victories, held onto hope, and believed we were on the path to healing.
But in December 2024, now at the age of 12 years old, our hearts sank when scans revealed signs of the tumor’s return. The news was devastating, but Isaac’s spirit remained unbroken. He underwent a second brain surgery, a procedure that tested his resilience and our family’s strength. Now, Isaac is enrolled in a
clinical trial, a beacon of hope in his fight to reclaim his health. This treatment, while offering new possibilities, comes with significant costs and challenges, adding to the emotional and financial weight we carry.
Isaac is more than a diagnosis—he’s a vibrant soul who inspires everyone around him. His infectious smile, boundless compassion, and incredible bravery light up our lives, even on the darkest days. Alongside his brother, classmates, and teachers, Isaac’s community has rallied around him, showing us the power of love and support. Yet, no family should have to face the dual burden of a child’s life-threatening illness and the overwhelming stress of medical bills.
