Luna’s Hope: Overcoming Epilepsy Together

Hey everyone! Most of you know Lunas story. In 2022 she had a brain surgery to remove an AVM from her brain. We were hoping the AVM was the cause for her epilepsy. After a traumatic surgery where the AVM ruptured, 2 strokes, PT and OT luna recovered and was seizure free for a whole year! We were hopeful that it worked! Unfortunately a year after surgery her seizures came back. She now has the grand mal clonic tonic seizures randomly. Sometimes a month or two between each seizure. Other times she has them once a week. She also has petit mal seizures everyday multiple times a day. These last a few seconds where she spaces out and her left size jolts to the side. We were looking into VNS. it is an implant that can lessen the frequency of her seizures. However, after meeting with her surgeon last month, he wants to run tests to possibly consider another surgery focusing on curing her epilepsy. This would require finding where the seizures are coming from in the brain and, if safe enough, removing the spot altogether. We recently moved quite a ways away so this will require back and forth trips via plane to Florida. Our next trip is for two appointments next month. One on the 28th and the other on the 30th for an MRI and MEG scan. After that, her specialists will determine the next steps. We are looking for any support for funds for travel, hotel stay, and food for the few days we will be there. We are not sure how many trips we will have to make after next month but we can use all of the support we can get as this will definitely be costly. If you cannot donate, please share! I have always been the person to give the shirt off of my back and never ask for anything in return. Im hoping there are people like me to help with this road ahead for my sweet girl. She wants so bad to be seizure free and we are hopeful for a good outcome!

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
