Michael’s Fight Against Infections and Diabetes

My name is Angela I have been with Michael for 17 years. I am raising funds for Michael as he has a lot going on medically. A few years back he was in a wheelchair for about 6 months in and out of drs. Then he had to have back surgery to get him out of the wheelchair. He was doing great for a while. Then his diabetes took over really bad. He had his first amputation in June of 2024 this was of a toe on his left foot. It was healing well then another turn for the worst. In November of 2024 he had 5 different blood infections, boarder line spetis, went to one hospital just to go to another one. He was admitted on a Friday night, Saturday morning came and his dr came in and said ” Michael you need emergency surgery to remove part of your right foot if not your dead in 3days.” At that point the infections took over a lot of him and he said he didn’t care. We got him the Surgery and he was doing great hard time walking and driving but has surpassed all that. He also had to have a 24 hour iv for 8 weeks to make sure they got the infections out. This has put him in a very bad place of ptsd depression and anxiety. He also has certain medications he needs to take daily for diabetes pain and other issues. After all of that he lost his medical insurance. We ended up paying for a policy that come to find out doesn’t do anything for him. We have to pay for a surgery for him to be able to continue to function everyday. We can not afford it. the surgery has now gotten canceled and he can not get some of his medications until the surgery is done. These are the medications that keep him alive. These are the ones that take the pain away so he can walk and use his hands and work. I called the dr to see if I could do a payment arrangement they said no. They said No payment arrangement NO surgery No meds. Now I am fighting with the insurance and they said your not covered for that. Like really. My husband is a father of 4 has always provided even when everyone and thing knocked him down. Now because of money I’m going to loss him our kids our going to loss there dad. I am setting this fundraiser up for Medical Bills Surgeries medications and bills that come about while Michael is down.
