Mike’s Journey to Save His Eye

Hi! My name is Lora. I am Mike’s mom. Oct. 2023 my son went in to have a tumor putting pressure on his brain stem removed, it was unsuccessful they could only remove 1/2 because of complications causing him to be deaf In the left ear. February 7th 2025 the Albany med neurologist tried removing the rest of it because it was putting pressure on. A nerve to his face causing the left side of his body to be drooped and numbness. A week after surgery he developed dryness, irritation, vision loss to the left eye. He has been seeing a ophthalmologist one to two times a week for diggerent treatment. Things are starting to improve but extremely slow. Today we found out the last chance my son has to save the eye is an eye drop that his insurance won’t cover which is gonna cost $40,000. The specialist is doing what he can to try to get the eye drops himself but isn’t sure it’s gonna be a success. My son has been dealing with alot since 2023 with the start of the surgery now dealing with much more of depression, embarrassment in public. Any thing will help to do our best to get him back to a normal life. Please we are asking for help to get these eye drops for him. His next appointment is this Friday to take the medicated contact lens out then next week to see if we will be able to get the drops. We’ve been doing this all on our own with the expenses, travels and many, many hours while he has been in surgery and recovery. Please help to raise the money and sharing this.
