My home is killing me and I need help

Hey, I’m David Dickey from Middle Georgia. I found out at 33, a few months after finally starting my own electrical business and after building up 3 others for friends, that I was born with a spinal birth defect. I really found out 3 years later after the first spinal fusion failed to secure my spine that was the cause. It took a second surgery that same morning while I was already out to bolt my spine together with titanium rods. This began my life of depending on others for help, something I’m not great at. But after 20 years on $12-15k a year S.S., it digs a hole.

I was able to find this 1994 trailer that’s 2,000 sq ft. for $30k but in need of a new roof. The guy I hired didn’t remove the 30-year-old asphalt shingles and put metal roofing over the swollen with moisture asphalt shingles. It brought mold into the house and ran me out into the yard. That was 3 years ago, and I’ve been living in my Toyota car with my Shih-Tzu/Chihuahua mix until the 6th of May when I was taken into the emergency room with a heart attack. I was kept for 12 days where they discovered the mold in me, in my lungs from the asphalt shingles.

What’s worse is I’m still living in the yard breathing the mold. I have a quote for a great local roofer who quoted me $10,000 to remove the poison and replace it with new roofing. The entire trailer isn’t worth $25k as is. So, this is my only shot at improving my health. I really have a problem asking anyone for anything and never ever thought I would do this, but please. My health is against the wall. Thank you for your time reading this.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
