Dear Family and Friends,
I am not one to ask for help so this is hard, but this time we need it. This past Monday we brought our 1 year old kitty, Boots to the emergency vet because he swallowed part of the string from Cameron’s birthday balloon overnight (which was on the counter). Little did we know how serious it was and he would need emergency surgery that night followed by a slew of tests and medical care. He endured a long surgery to correct his intestinal plication. Meaning his small intestines were all bunched up like an accordion and swollen. The ER doctor ended up removing some of his intestine because it was no longer viable and he almost didn’t make it. This past week has been whirl wind, emotional rollercoaster and terrifying to say the least. We love this cat more than words could ever express. Boots has brought our family comfort and joy in ways we didn’t know was possible, so I knew I had to do whatever it would take to save him. That meant spending thousands of dollars to save him even with no guarantee he would make it. He is not just a cat, he is FAMILY. Everyone who meets this special boy instantly falls in love with him. He truly is one of a kind, simply the best, and happens to be Cameron’s best bud. Thankfully, last night our prayers were answered and Boots was strong enough to come home to us. He still has a long recovery road ahead of him and “isn’t out of the woods yet” but we are SO THRILLED to have our boy home. Clearly no one knew this would happen and we have been blindsided by the cost because we didn’t have pet insurance. That is why we are reaching out to our friends and family to ask if you could please help in any way possible to help us with the debt we just accumulated. Anything would be greatly appreciated. This was a hard lesson learned, note to self, GET PET INSURANCE! For emergencies just like this.
With Great Love,
Missy, Larry, Cameron and Boots
