Stage 4 Leukemia Took My Future—Help Me Reclaim It

Hello, my name is Maytham Fahda. I’m 25 years old, and I’ve recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).

My journey started with so much hope. In 2023, I graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security Engineering. Like many new graduates, I was eager to start my career and build a future. But life had other plans.

In early 2024, I was diagnosed with diabetes. It was a big shift—I had to give up many of the foods I loved and start a new way of living. I kept pushing forward, applying for jobs every day in my field, despite the tough job market, rising tuition debt, and growing medical expenses.

During this time, I was also supporting my fiancée, who was living in a country affected by war. I worked hard, took on legal fees, and went through the immigration process to bring her to safety. Thankfully, she arrived safely, and we got married in December 2024. It finally felt like life was beginning to move in a better direction.

But then, everything changed again.

A small bump appeared on my head. At first, doctors told me it was nothing—just a benign mass. But within two weeks, those bumps multiplied rapidly and spread across my body. I knew something was seriously wrong.

After seeing multiple doctors, a biopsy confirmed my worst fear: cancer. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a rare and aggressive blood cancer. I was in shock. My wife and I had to cancel our honeymoon and put our life plans on hold. What followed was a month of uncertainty as doctors struggled to determine how to treat this rare and fast-moving cancer.

Eventually, I was accepted by Moffitt Cancer Center, one of the best in Florida. They created a treatment plan that spans the next three years—with intense chemotherapy, five days a week. This treatment has completely taken over my life and destroyed my immune system. I cannot work. I cannot support my family. And the medical bills keep piling up.

I’ve never been someone to ask for help like this, but the truth is: I can’t do this alone anymore. Between student loans, immigration fees, and now endless cancer-related costs, I am drowning. We’ve used up all our savings just to keep up, and now I’m asking for your help.

Your donation—no matter the size—will go toward:

Medical bills and treatment costs

Transportation to and from the cancer center (5 days/week)

Basic living expenses while I am unable to work

Supporting my wife and I through this incredibly difficult chapter

If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this page with your friends, family, or community. Every share and every kind word helps more than you know.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading my story, and thank you for standing with me in this fight for my life.

With love and hope,

Maytham Fahda

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
