We never thought we’d be here again.
My amazing sister, Jen, is facing breast cancer for the second time — this time at age 40, and this time requiring a double mastectomy and a long, difficult recovery.
Jen’s first battle with breast cancer came when she was just 25. She bravely went through chemotherapy and radiation, and after enduring so much, she was told there was only a 5% chance of the cancer ever returning.
Now, nearly 15 years later, it’s back.
If you know Jen, you know how strong, loving, and generous she is. She’s a devoted daughter, the best sister and auntie we could ask for, and a loyal friend to so many. She brings light, humor, and kindness to everyone around her. Even in the face of this terrifying diagnosis, she’s been nothing but brave.
But this fight is big. It’s expensive. And it’s long.
