Support a Faithful Friend’s Recovery and Rent

Hi there, I’m trying to raise some money to cover my friend’s rent payment for July. She was rushed into emergency surgery Wednesday, and they had to remove some of her intestine. She just had a hip replacement not even a year ago and missed a lot of work, using up all her PTO and sick time for that. Our annual sick time and PTO don’t start again till August. And now she will be out of work for a few weeks with no pay. I just don’t want her to end up homeless from this emergency!

She is more worried about getting back to work than she is about her recovery ❤️‍. She is already saying she will just sleep on a chair at her sister’s house, and she is telling her family they can take what they want from her apartment because she will be evicted next month.

She has had a rough year. She even said, “Now I know why God took my cat a few weeks ago, it’s because I could not take care of her now.”

she can’t seem to catch a break.

She is a hardworking woman; she goes without things to make ends meet. She just got this little studio apartment, which is close to work, a few months ago. She made sure it was close so she can get to work even if she has car issues.

She was staying with family during her hip replacement surgery. That didn’t work out as planned because her family member was showing signs of early dementia, and this made the living situation very tense.

I know times are hard for everyone right now, but I don’t want her to lose even the little she has right now because of this.

She is such a helpful person; she was worried she can’t drive her sister to the grocery store now because she used to help with that every week.

She is not even thinking of her healing, but she is in the mindset of planning for the worst, sleeping in a chair in a house that is already full of people and being evicted.

When I talked to her after surgery, she said to me, “This is when I really want my mom and dad” because they could fix everything. Her parents have both passed, but it made me sad to hear those words…and I want her to know God, her Father, is still here for her.

She is a faithful believer and Christian preschool teacher, and I want her to feel secure enough to relax during recovery. As she is already trying to get back to work because she can’t afford not to…

Anything will help—to put towards her rent, I think she would probably recover faster with less worry and stress especially about having a place to live next month.

Just hoping to help her, God said “ask,” and I have never done this before but thought why not try. Also please keep her in prayer. She would never do this on her own, but she really does need the help.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
