The Heart of Our Family
For over 30 years, our mother, Adelina Caoile, lived her life by one mission: taking care of others. As a Registered Nurse since 1990, she served patients in orthopedics, general surgery, and nursing homes with a generous heart and tireless spirit.
Beyond her profession, she was our hero. As a single mother, she raised my older brother and me with unwavering strength. She was the breadwinner for her five siblings and worked overseas in Saudi Arabia—facing years of loneliness and sacrifice—to fund the medical care for her own mother’s battle with breast cancer.
A Vibrant Spirit and a Dreamer
Mom was always the picture of health and vitality. She loved her active lifestyle and was a constant presence at the gym. She worked out religiously and even held a secret dream of one day stepping onto the stage for a bodybuilding competition. When she wasn’t training, she was the life of the party—baking, cooking, and sharing incredible meals with the friends and family she loved so dearly. To see someone so full of life and strength face this diagnosis is heartbreaking for all of us who know her.
The Battle with Myxoid Liposarcoma
Recently, our world was turned upside down. Mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 Myxoid Liposarcoma. The cancer has metastasized throughout her entire body, including her spinal cord, abdomen, and back.
After a courageous fight, the medical team has informed us that they have exhausted all possible treatments. There is no longer a cure. We have been told that Mom has 3 to 6 months left to live, and she has now transitioned into hospice care to focus on comfort and quality of life.
Why We Need Your Help
Throughout this journey, our family has taken out numerous loans to cover the mountain of medical bills not reached by insurance. Now that she is in hospice, many essential costs for her daily comfort and dignity are falling directly on our shoulders.
We are raising funds to cover:
