Help Athena get the surgery she needs to walk Properly again
Hi, my name is Chrissi, and I’m raising funds to help my beloved dog, Athena, get the surgery she needs to walk comfortably again.
Athena is a 100-pound American Bulldog with a huge heart. She’s more than just a pet — she’s my companion, my comfort, and my best friend. She’s been by my side through thick and thin, always with a gentle nudge, a deep sigh, or a playful bark to let me know she understands me — even without words.
In December 2021, Athena underwent surgery, and now, due to ongoing pain and difficulty walking — especially getting up steps — she needs another operation. I recently found out that the cost of the surgery will be around $4,000, which is more than I can manage on my own right now.
Originally, I had been saving for a lifelong dream of taking a vacation to Hawaii. But Athena’s well-being comes first. I’ve now turned my vacation fund into the Athena Fund, because Hawaii will always be there — but she won’t. She needs this help now.
Athena still tries to play and be her old self. She loves laying in the sun, running to see if the neighbor’s dogs will come out to talk to her, and squeaky balls are her absolute favorite. Watching her struggle to do the things she loves has been heartbreaking. She deserves to live without pain.
If you’re able to help in any way — through a donation or by sharing this page — I would be forever grateful. Every little bit brings us closer to getting her back on her feet.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Chrissy and Athena
