Hello everyone, my name is Jessica and I am in Virginia, USA, and I am starting this fundraiser for my friend, Ayad Ahmad, who is a Civil Defense Member in the North Gaza Governorate. Ayad is another hero of Gaza (hero is not even a good enough word), who has worked tirelessly day and night for the last 19+ months, even while enduring the nightmare that all of Gaza is currently enduring.
Ayad was recently injured in May 2025, when on a mission to rescue citizens trapped under the rubble of a home that had been targeted. A wall in the home collapsed on him, and he suffered severe injuries. Yet, that has not stopped him from being in the field again, through the pain he suffers from daily.
Ayad has 7 family members that he helps to support. His father is very sick and needs treatment, and his sister is suffering from an enlarged thyroid and needs tests and treatment, both of which are costly. Their family home was targeted in December of 2023, and with the recent forced displacement of much of the North, they have found themselves with no shelter.
Ayad hopes to move himself and his family out of Gaza, to be able to live without the constant threat of death at every moment. But right now, Ayad and his family truly need our help just to survive each day. The costs associated with basic human survival are unimaginable.
The money raised will be transferred to my bank and then transferred to Ayad’s bank.
