Hello! Thank you in advance for reading. This fundraiser is for my grandmother, Beverly. My grandma was a huge part of my family’s life, always there and creating the best memories.
My grandmother raised my cousin from a baby after both parents went to prison. He is a very talented, well-raised kid attending college. My grandfather passed one year ago on Jan 24 and left the house and debt to her. My grandfather worked until the day he died of cancer, never letting any sickness or injury stop him from living life. Since then, she works 14-hour weeks taking care of elderly folks in her neighborhood to have income along with social security. Before last May, she hadn’t worked since the early ’70s as a cashier.
In the early hours of June 14, my grandmother went to get out of bed and fell. Her legs wouldn’t hold her weight or move. This was scary and unfamiliar for her. She rides her bike every day, tends to the garden and animals on the farm, and watches her health very closely. She crawled to the door and yelled out for my youngest cousin to help her. From there, she was transferred to a local hospital, then to Indianapolis. At 5:35, it was determined that an MRI showed her A-Fib having fast and irregular beats allowed blood to pool on top of the heart valve and caused a clot that released and caused the stroke in the P1 segment of the brain. The blockage showing is too dangerous to try and go after. Cardiology will see her and see how to best prevent anything further, but with A-Fib, this will always be a risk of happening again no matter what they do. She will need rehab to try and walk again and regain what the damage has done.
Temporarily, we are working together as a family to bring together funds to care for her grandson/my cousin. Any bills, food, travel costs for family staying alongside her, and her pets. This is not a long-term solution but will hopefully let her have the peace of mind and rest to be able to get back to a new normal for her. Thank you and God bless anyone who has read this far.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
