Hello, my name is Kate Miller and I am a nurse of 21 years. I have been an Operating Room RN for 19 years, but started my career as an Oncology and Blood and Marrow Transplant nurse. This hits close to home as I am raising money for a dear family friend who has been diagnosed with a rare blood cancer, Myeloid/Lymphoid Neoplasms with JAK2 Fusion. It’s an incredibly rare combination that requires extensive treatment.
Bill McBride has been a close friend to my husband Kevin and his family, and my friend since the 1st day I met him. Bill is very warm and caring, and has an amazing enthusiasm for life and other people.
For over 30 years, Bill has been paying it forward as a BLS/CPR instructor, and teaches others how to be instructors. Numerous lives have been saved by the skills that Bill has taught to thousands, both to everyday citizens, and healthcare professionals throughout the Colorado Springs area.
Bill currently teaches students with disabilities at Eastlake High School, further touching other’s lives through supporting our challenged youth. He has also recently been working as a part-time security guard but has had to leave that job due to his health concerns.
Bill is facing extended time off of work for his cancer treatment, and has exhausted his paid time off due to his many appointments and hospital visits. In addition, his co-pays and expenses for travel to Denver for his many treatments has left him in great financial need.
Please find it your heart to help support Bill as he fights for his life. He has given back to so many others, and now needs support to help with his battle. Thank you!
