Hello, my Jamison. My partner Rae and I are reaching out on behalf of my best friend, (our biggest baby) our dog, Dobby. She’s a sweet, goofy soul who has been my companion through thick and thin. Recently, Dobby was diagnosed with lymphoma, and her vet has recommended immediate treatment using the CHOP chemotherapy protocol—a 16-week treatment plan designed to give her the best possible chance at remission and a good quality of life.
The total estimated cost of Dobby’s treatment is $10,000, not including emergency care or complications, her first oncology visit, bloodwork, and cytology (alone cost an additional $1,800 combined). We’ve committed to starting the process because she deserves every shot we can give her, but we can’t do it alone.
We work full-time and live modestly, but with rising costs and Dobby’s care, we are facing a time where we need the help and support of our community (near and far). Every dollar will go directly toward her chemotherapy, blood monitoring, medications, and supportive care through Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital, one of the best in our region. If there is anything remaining after care, we will donate it all to Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital to help someone else win the fight a little easier with their best friend.
Dobby isn’t just a pet, she’s family. She’s the gentle heartbeat that got me through my darkest times, the soft comfort after long hours and terrible days, and the cuddliest symbol of the unconditional love we all hope for but will never truly deserve. If you’ve ever loved a dog like that, you understand how hard this is.
Please, if you’re able to donate, even just 1$, it means more than we can say. And if you can’t donate, sharing this page with your community would be a massive help.
Thank you for seeing us. For hearing our story. And for giving Dobby the chance to stay by our side a little longer.
With love and gratitude,
Jamison, Rae, Pepper & Dobby
