Hi, my name is Darbie and I’m sharing Eric’s story. He has been diagnosed with stage four metastatic pancreatic cancer that has spread to his liver and is undergoing treatment.
Back in February of this year, Eric became sick. I was positive he just had Norovirus and went to urgent care. After only a few minutes, the doctor told him he had to go to the ER. They sent him by ambulance. Later that night, we found out he had stage four metastatic pancreatic cancer.
Talking with the oncologist, he said to expect six months with no treatment or 14 months with treatment. The doctor told us he does have a patient with the same cancer and she is going on year five. He chose to fight this cancer. He started chemotherapy and goes every 14 days for a 6-hour infusion and then wears a pump home for 46 hours. He just finished treatment number 6. On Wednesday, June 11th, we see the doctor to discuss whether treatment is working or if he needs to try something else.
Eric hasn’t been able to work while receiving treatment.
While insurance covers some costs, there are still significant expenses that we’re struggling to cover. We’re grateful for any support you can offer, as it will help Eric focus on his treatment and recovery. Your kindness means the world to us.
