On 5/28/2025, I blacked out and fell in my half bath, landed on my toilet, and shattered my humerus bone. This caused an arterial rupture under my left arm and a concussion. Thanks to the quick actions of Sherry Thompson and Melody Rice, I was able to get immediate medical attention. If not for them, I would’ve died on my bathroom floor. Medshore ambulance came and pulled me out and transported me quickly to AnMed hospital in Anderson. These medical professionals are also a very important part of why I am here today. AnMed decided that my injuries were more severe than they were qualified to provide, so I was transported by Life Flight helicopter to Prisma Greenville Memorial Hospital. I underwent two different surgical procedures and received 8 units of blood. The vascular surgery department, orthopedic surgery department, and an entire team helped to provide me life-saving care. The doctors, nurses, assistant nurses, radiologists, transportation department, food and nutrition department, housekeeping staff, case managers, and many others made my hospital stay of almost 11 days as comfortable as possible.
I am finally home from the hospital, but I have a long way to go. Healing is only part of my journey. I’m in need of help for the crushing medical bills, upfitting my house for safety, and transportation expenses for doctor’s appointments. Any help is greatly appreciated.
