Hi, I’m Jasmine. I’m a 30-year-old mother of two who has been fighting with my insurance to get dental work. I have been fighting with dental care for a few years. In 2022, I had most of my teeth removed and was given dentures that cut my mouth to pieces. This year, I had my last six teeth removed, and my insurance does not want to pay for me to get new teeth.
My husband works 40-plus hours to support both of our sons and me, because I am unable to work due to medical conditions. My oldest son has Autism; he is a wonderful nine-year-old boy, and I wouldn’t be here without him or my other son (age 6).
I am on a limited diet as I have been since 2022. I am limited to soft foods, which is hard to do. This affects both my health and my mental health as well. My goal is to try and save for implants. I know they are more expensive; however, they do not have to be replaced as often as dentures and are a more long-term solution. I have had dentures before, and they were really hard to use and cut my mouth to pieces.
I am not expecting anything. My husband and I are planning on using our taxes, as well as any money we can save up, to reach this goal. I appreciate any help.
