Help Jessica Fight IIH and Rebuild Her Life
Hi, my name is Brittnee, and I’m reaching out for help for a friend during one of the hardest times of her life. Here’s her story:
Earlier this year, I was diagnosed with Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH), a rare condition causing dangerously high pressure around my brain. Since then, life has been a whirlwind of MRIs, CT scans, eye exams, lumbar punctures, and hospital visits. On March 14, 2025, I underwent a life-saving procedure to place 3 stents into the left side of my brain to prevent a stroke. While that surgery helped, my journey is far from over.
Every day, I battle brain fog, migraines, hearing loss, vision problems, weakness, insomnia, and constant ringing in my ears. I’ve lost over 65% of my hair, my ability to work, my independence, and so much of what made me feel like me. I haven’t been able to drive since November 2024, and the uncertainty of what’s next is overwhelming. More surgeries, possibly more stents—or even a brain shunt—could still be ahead.
Despite everything, I’m fighting to stay hopeful. I’ve worked in the security field for over 23 years, and I want nothing more than to find my footing again—to regain my independence, my strength, and my life.
Through all of this, my husband has been my rock. He is not only my biggest supporter but also my full-time caregiver. Right now, he’s unable to work because his priority is taking care of me, helping me through recovery, managing my appointments, and being by my side every step of the way.
I’m humbly asking for help to cover ongoing medical expenses, travel for treatments, and basic living costs while I focus on recovery. Every donation, share, and word of encouragement brings hope during this uphill battle.
Thank you for standing with me. Your kindness means more than you’ll ever know.
