On Wednesday evening in Oakland County, Michigan, Jillian Ricketson’s daughters, Brooklyn- 19, Haven- 14, and Teryn-10, were involved in a devastating car accident at the intersection of Highland Road and Cass Lake Road. Jillian was not in the vehicle at the time of the accident. The crash left Brooklyn requiring surgery on her leg and Teryn, in a medically induced coma with multiple traumatic injuries. Haven, was also hospitalized but has since been discharged after receiving treatment. The family is now facing a long and uncertain road to recovery, with Teryn in critical condition at DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital. Brooklyn is recovering from surgery at this time.
Jillian has dedicated over 15 years as a Medical Assistant at Clarkston Internal Medicine, and also works as a patient care tech at Havenwyck Psychiatric Hospital for over 5 years, she is always putting others first and never one to ask for help. She is a pillar of the community and an extremly hardworker. Brooklyn, her 19 year old daughter, is following in her mother’s footsteps, works as a nurse aide at Trinity Health Oakland on the Maternity Ward, caring for new mothers and their babies. Brooklyn will be out of work for an unknown period of time. Teryn is a brave and vibrant child who loves playing football and has a passion for science and nature. This accident has turned their world upside down, and Jillian is now unable to work as she stays by her daughters’ sides. She is also navigating care between going to 2 different hospitals.
The family urgently needs support to cover mounting medical bills, future therapy, and essential household expenses while Jillian is out of work. Any contribution will help ease their financial burden and allow them to focus on healing. Your kindness and generosity will make a real difference for Jillian, Brooklyn, Teryn, and Haven as they navigate this incredibly difficult time.
