Help Us Support My Mom, Lesha
Just a few weeks ago, life felt normal for my family — full of routines, laughter, and everyday moments. But in an instant, everything changed. My incredible mom, Lesha, was diagnosed with Breast cancer (Invasive Ductal Carcinoma).
It all started when she found a lump and noticed a swollen lymph node. That moment set everything in motion. After a series of tests, we learned that the cancer had already spread to her lung, lymph nodes, and thyroid. PET scans later revealed that it had reached other areas as well. Hearing those results was heartbreaking — it felt like the world stopped. But even with this devastating news, her doctors remain hopeful. They believe chemotherapy will be effective in fighting back, and we are holding tightly to that hope. She will be doing four months of red devil chemotherapy to hopefully stop it from spreading more.
As her daughter, it’s hard to find the words to describe the pain and fear that come with this diagnosis. But through it all, we are leaning on our faith and trusting in Christ to carry us through the days ahead.
If you know my mom, you know she is one of the strongest, most selfless, and hardworking women you’ll ever meet. She gives everything she has to care for others — whether it’s her family or a stranger in need. She and my dad, Karl, have built a beautiful life together and raised me and my brother, Kolby, with endless love, strength, and faith.
This diagnosis has shaken us, but it’s also shown us just how brave my mom truly is. Every single day, she gets up and faces this fight with grace, courage, and a quiet strength that inspires everyone around her. Watching her persevere through the pain reminds us of the power of love, resilience, and community.
Because of this, my mom and dad won’t be able to work for the foreseeable future as they need to focus all their energy on her treatment and recovery.
As many of you know, cancer brings not only emotional and physical challenges, but also a heavy financial burden. The costs of treatments, hospital visits, medications, and ongoing care add up quickly. While we are doing all we can as a family, we would be incredibly grateful for any support that can help lighten this load. We want my mom to be able to focus on what truly matters: healing and being surrounded by the people who love her most.
Whether it’s through a donation, a prayer, or simply sharing her story, your support means more than words can express. Please help us lift her up and remind her she’s not in this fight alone. My mom is our light, and with your help, she can keep shining — even through this storm.
