Liza de Jesus-Ferol is my first cousin who lives in Cabanatuan, Philippines. She’s a hardworking and practical woman who runs a small Sari Sari store to support her family, including her autistic child. Despite her daily struggles, Liza remains dedicated to her loved ones and always puts their needs first. She is known for her frugality—she still uses a flip phone, has no air conditioning in her home, and buys only used clothing from second-hand stores. Every peso she earns goes toward her family’s well-being.
Recently, Liza’s life has been made much more difficult by severe knee pain caused by osteoarthritis. The pain is so intense that even simple tasks like doing laundry have become a daily challenge. She has to sit on a stool to hand wash clothes, which causes her even more discomfort. While she is still able to run her convenience store, her mobility is limited, and her quality of life has suffered greatly.
Liza now needs knee replacement surgery to relieve her pain and regain her independence. The funds raised will go directly toward the cost of her surgery. Any support will help Liza get back on her feet and continue caring for her family and serving her community. Your kindness will make a real difference in her life.
Surgery Date: June 27, 2025.
The procedure will move forward only after funds are received in the Philippines. Should the surgery not happen for any reason, your donation will be returned in full.
