Hi to everyone.
My name is Elyxandro Esteban, brother of Maria Aileen Trinidad, who’s currently in the hospital in critical condition. She is now diagnosed with serious fungal meningitis, which is a rare case and almost impossible to accumulate in an individual. Because of this, her condition is getting worse throughout the days of hospitalization. She originally came in with a severe headache only at Whittier Medical Center on May 22, 2025, and was admitted right away. But without any final diagnosis, she ended up staying in Whittier Medical Center for about 10 days. She suddenly bled in her private part, and the doctor ordered her a stat CT scan. They found out that she has myoma, and they urgently brought her to the operating room to do a surgery of removal of ovaries, a total oophorectomy, while she was still not fully alert and conscious because of what was causing her severe headache. They later found out what was causing the headache after 2 days of recovering from ovary surgery. She accumulated fluids on her brain, and Whittier Medical Center decided that she needed to be transferred to a different and bigger facility because they were not fully equipped and did not have a neurosurgeon in this hospital. So, as per the insurance and doctor case to case, they ended up transferring my sister to Garfield Medical Center in Monterey Park on June 2, 2025, and she ended up staying for another 2 weeks. All of a sudden, the hospital decided that she needed to be transferred to a different hospital for the 2nd time. It’s sad to say that in her condition, we still need to wait for the insurance answer and decision as we were pushing for her to be transferred to a bigger and known hospital like UCI Medical Center.
I am doing this fundraiser raising on behalf of my nieces. Yes, my sister has 2 children who are still in their young age of 12 years old and 14 years old. She’s a single mom, and she’s the only person that provides and takes care of my nieces. They are only renting a house, and all the bills of my sister are piling up as her condition is getting worse with major head drainage and brain infection. The doctor told us she will be in a long-term, lifetime treatment. I am doing this so I can help my nieces with their everyday needs. Any amount will be a big help and much appreciated. Thank you on behalf of my family.
