We’re reaching out to you with heavy hearts and hopeful spirits as our beloved, Monique Spears, 42 years young, mother of two, is currently in the fight of her life. She’s recently been diagnosed with a form of throat cancer, and as anyone who’s faced this battle knows—it impacts far more than just physical health.
Monique is the rock of her family, the full-time income provider, and the dedicated mom to two incredible children:
Sophia, her bright and athletic daughter, who is a rising soccer star.
Thomas, her imaginative and handsome son, who lives with severe autism and requires full-time care and supervision.
While Monique’s children remain her greatest motivation, the reality is that she is unable to work due to the rapid progression of her illness and the urgent medical needs ahead. Monique is hopeful to undergo advanced treatment at UC San Diego Health, where doctors will be using laser-like precision to target her cancer. This cutting-edge care gives us great hope—but it also comes with serious financial challenges. With time off work, travel expenses, and the growing cost of medical treatment, the burden is heavy for Monique and her family.
This fundraiser is here to help relieve the financial pressure so Monique can focus on healing and being present for her family. Every donation, big or small, will go directly toward medical costs, transportation to treatment at UCSD, and day-to-day needs as she recovers.
Her husband, Kamil, stays home full-time currently to care for Thomas and Sophia, leaving the family with almost zero income at this critical time as he was working part-time but due to the situation has been unable to do so.
