Support Pedro’s Recovery and Repatriation

Pedro Toribio Gonzalez has faced unimaginable challenges since a tragic car accident in 2007 left him with a severe traumatic brain injury. While visiting family in North Carolina, Pedro and three others were involved in a devastating crash. One family member lost their life, and Pedro was rushed to the hospital, where he spent two weeks in a coma. Although he survived, Pedro was left paralyzed and has required constant care for the past 17 years.

Pedro’s family, who once relied on him as their main source of income, has struggled to cover the mounting medical expenses without health insurance. Every cost—from daily home care to ongoing medical bills—has been paid out of pocket. The lack of resources has made it impossible to access the rehabilitation and medical assistance Pedro needs to improve his quality of life.

We are raising funds to help pay off Pedro’s accumulated medical bills and to support his health repatriation back to Mexico, where he can be closer to extended family and access more affordable care.
