Hello!
I am a Pilates instructor in Sarasota, Florida. A dear friend and colleague has had a terrible accident. Thankfully, after a visit to the emergency room and an emergency surgery, she will—slowly but surely—make a recovery.
For those in the fitness industry, whether as an independent contractor or an employee of an organization, we are left to find our own health insurance. We do not have the luxury of paid time off or sick days. We rely on our colleagues to fill in for us, but more often than not, we show up when we are not at our best and pretend that we are because we love what we do!
To be faced with insurmountable medical bills, compounded with being unable to work, is unimaginable. We like to think we are invincible and can return to work much sooner than we should.
Please, if you are able, help to make the next several weeks a bit easier for my colleague, who is most importantly, my dear friend.
