On June 12, 2025, my granddaughter River Antoinette was rushed to the ER and promptly sent by ambulance to Phoenix Children’s Hospital. She was put in ICU with blood sugar levels registering over 1000.
At just 4 years old, River has been diagnosed with Type I Diabetes.
She remains in the hospital where they are working hard around the clock to adjust her blood sugar levels. They are also training River’s parents on how to care for and support River in her new way of life. This emergency will not only change River’s life forever, but also her parents’ and her brother’s as well.
Her amazing parents work hard and do all the right things, but they do not have the massive financial resources to pay for this emergency, River’s medications, or daily care. Her mother had to take a leave of absence from her work to be with River during this difficult transition period.
River is a vibrant, fun-loving child, full of love and happiness. She loves playing with her brother and dressing up in her princess outfits.
My heart is broken not only for River, but also for her parents who are facing an emotional and financial mountain.
Your prayers and financial support are truly appreciated. One hundred percent of funds collected will go directly to River’s care.
Thank you,
Grandma Debbie
