Thad Wahl is a 31-year-old farmer from Western Oregon. A husband and father to four beautiful young children.
On Monday, June 9, while cutting trees on the family farm, one fell and struck Thad in the back, narrowly missing his head. Unfortunately, the force and weight of the tree broke his back at the T8 vertebrae. After four days of waiting, doctors are still unsure if he will require surgery to stabilize the spinal cord. For now, he is resting thanks to medication and trying his best not to move to avoid the pain movement produces. Regardless of surgery or not, one thing is clear: he will have a long road to recovery with at least 6-8 weeks in a back brace and several more weeks of rehab before he can return to work. As the only source of income for the family, obviously, this is going to be a challenging situation.
Therefore, any support is greatly appreciated to help this young family through these difficult next few months.
