Help Tonia Fight Cancer While Supporting Her Family
My name is Tonia Thorpe, and I never thought I’d be here asking for help. As a single mother of amazing children, I’ve always prided myself on being self-sufficient, working full-time to give my children the life they deserve. But life had other plans.
I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, which has continued to spread through my body.
The news shattered our world, but my grandchildren’s and children’s smiles keep me fighting every single day, as well as my faith in God.
There are days where I feel somewhat normal, while other days, I can barely get out of bed. Eating is even a daily struggle as it is difficult to keep food down. Chemotherapy was absolutely brutal. Now, I am faced with even more uncertainty due to all the side effects I will get from radiation treatment.
While I’m blessed to have health insurance, the mounting co-pays, deductibles, and basic living expenses have become all too overwhelming.
Since starting treatments, my work hours have decreased, and my savings have been depleted. Every day brings new medical bills, and as a single parent, there’s no safety net to catch us.
What Your Support Will Help Cover:
Monthly rent payments, car notes, and insurance. Food and other necessities. Various household utilities and expenses, transportation to and from medical facilities and appointments, as well as any uncovered medical expenses and prescriptions, which are mounting.
My goal is to raise $50,000 to help us stay afloat while I undergo continued treatment and multiple surgeries and work to recover. Any contribution I am grateful for—as there is no such thing as “a small contribution.” It would mean the world to us. I promise to update this page regularly with my progress and use every dollar with careful consideration.
To those who can’t donate, sharing this page would help tremendously. Your prayers and positive thoughts are equally appreciated.
I never imagined I’d be fighting cancer, but I’m determined to win this battle for myself and my kids. They deserve to have their mom healthy and strong again. Thank you for taking the time to read our story, and thank you for any help you can provide.
With gratitude and hope,
Tonia
P.S. For those who want to verify my situation, I’m happy to provide documentation of my medical diagnosis and bills to the fundraiser team.
