Support Vicki’s Stroke Recovery

My name is Emma Shewbridge. On May 11th, my mom Vicki and I were going out for Mother’s Day when she started showing signs of stroke. She went to the hospital the same day and stayed there for a week until she came home, still having occasional bouts of numbness, balance issues, and speech difficulties.

On June 2nd, she exhibited even worse symptoms and was taken to the hospital again, having had another, much more severe stroke.

Mom is now unable to leave her bed, having very little function in her right leg, zero function in her right arm, and some speech difficulty. She has since made a little progress, but is currently living in a nursing home, doing rehab to regain her lost functions so she can come back home to me and our pets.

Donations made to this page will go directly towards any potential medical expenses, transportation costs, and general living expenses, as mom is currently unable to work, and due to not having a drivers license, my transportation is limited. If you are looking to donate but do not want a percentage to be taken by GFM, I also have PayPal. Please DM me for that information.

My mom is dependable, creative, stubborn and kind. I can’t wait to see her thrive again. She and I greatly appreciate all the support we have gotten so far and thank you for your consideration.

Tranding Fundraisers

I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah and James, who are enduring every parent’s worst nightmare — the loss of their beloved son, Leo.

We’re heartbroken to share that our dear friend Alex passed away far too soon. His light, his laughter, his incredible spirit — they touched so many, and his absence is deeply felt.

Hi everyone — Angela here, writing on behalf of Matthew (for now). On December 6th, completely out of the blue, Matthew suffered a severe stroke.
