My mom, Yvoone Wright, has been living with epilepsy for some time now. She experiences status epilepticus, which means her seizures can last too long or come one after another without full recovery in between. This is a medical emergency that has led to frequent hospital visits and a constant need for immediate care. Watching her go through these episodes has been incredibly difficult, and it’s something no one should have to face alone.
Epilepsy has deeply affected Yvoone’s daily life. She struggles with memory, learning, and problem-solving, making everyday tasks and social interactions challenging. The emotional toll is just as significant—she deals with anxiety, fear, and depression, often avoiding social situations because of the unpredictability of her condition. These challenges have made it hard for her to work and maintain her independence, putting a strain on our family both emotionally and financially.
We’re raising funds to help cover Yvoone’s ongoing medical bills, medications, and therapy, as well as to support access to counseling and support groups. In addition, we hope to contribute to epilepsy research, so that others facing this condition can benefit from better treatments and, one day, a cure. Any support you can offer will make a real difference in Yvoone’s life and help us face these challenges together.
