I am attempting to raise funds for my mom’s medical bills. Sylvia Shafer is a retired Pinal County Sheriff’s Dept. of 35 years and has a limited income. She has been in the hospital for over a month now, has been in the ICU three times while in the hospital, and has recently become diabetic! The doctors still don’t really know what is causing her illness, and she will still require to be in a skilled nursing facility with physical, occupational, and speech therapy after her hospital stay. She has insurance and Medicare, but her insurance has been denying some of her doctor-referred needs. Her insurance is with United HealthCare.
She is still in the hospital, and I anticipate her medical bills are going to be enormous!!
My mother is the most amazing, kindest, smartest, most strong-willed woman I have ever known! She has served her community and has done so much for her children and family. To see such an incredible person be brought down by an unknown illness is so confusing, upsetting, and frustrating.
