My name is Sherry Vann, I’m 30 years old. I was admitted to the ICU due to blood loss and a low blood level of 3. After one blood transfusion, they ran a CT scan on my stomach and chest. After the results came back, they told me they found blood clots in my lungs, my liver was enlarged, and I had low blood pressure. After multiple tests and blood work, they finally diagnosed me with Ulcerative Colitis with a high chance of colon cancer. Ulcerative Colitis is a long-term (chronic) disease. It causes swelling (inflammation) and sores (ulcers) in the inner lining of the rectum and colon. It is a form of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). It is unclear what causes it. I’m currently on a total of eleven prescription medications. I have several more tests to go and am currently waiting to see what the best long-term injection is for me. Sadly, at this difficult time, I am not covered under any health insurance. I did enroll for health insurance, disability, and ISS, but was told it could take months or years to receive any benefits or to be approved. So, that being said, I’m asking from the bottom of my heart to run my fundraiser page to help me cover any medical expenses. I would greatly appreciate and be thankful for any help or donations to help me at this time of need. Thank you very much for taking your time to read my story, and God bless you.
