My name is Cheyenne Williams and I am making this fundraiser for my son, Gideon. Gideon is an almost 4-year-old who suffers from cerebral palsy, a gene mutation of the TUBA1A gene, and epilepsy. Gideon can’t walk, talk, or stand alone. He also lacks motor skills.
Gideon had a selective dorsal rhizotomy in May at Mott’s Children’s Hospital. SDR surgery helped with his pain and maybe one day him walking, but it also left him with lasting GI issues. Gideon’s needs are complex, and he needs continued visits to Mott’s. Gideon also has to go to therapy 3x a week for PT and OT, and he will start speech again in the near future. Gideon is in a wheelchair as well after surgery.
Our vehicle isn’t suitable for these trips, nor for his wheelchair, or even getting him in and out of the car. Our wiring is all messed up, and we currently don’t have a brake light or blinker on the left side. The van doors are failing, and the transmission isn’t wanting to go into gears. My child’s whole livelihood depends on getting to appointments and therapy safely.
Gideon also has 4 siblings, one with autism and epilepsy, who also needs appointments to Mott’s.
Please help us help these children who didn’t ask for these struggles. And thank you.
